Digi-Key's Summer Social Giveaway

Digi-Key is running a promotion they're calling "Summer Social", where people who follow @digikey on Twitter will have the chance to win some really nice prizes.

The Summer Social promotion runs through June 30, 2010 and the first giveaway will take place on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. A second giveaway will take place Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Six different Digi-Key Twitter followers will receive prizes during each giveaway. Each winner will be drawn at random.

The third giveaway includes the Summer Social Grand Prize. This drawing will take place Thursday, June 24, 2010 with the winner announced Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The Summer Social Grand Prize will be announced at a later date.

What fun!

It's interesting to see the social media beginning to embraced by people and companies in the electronics engineering world, who are not normally ones to jump on trends. Perhaps this is a sign of the maturation of social media and its integration into the day-to-day lives of those in the industry.
