Embedded Systems Programming

ESP is my favorite magazine, with useful, real-world articles in nearly every issue,
and excellent columnists. The magazine has a tendency to devote too much space to
coverage of high-end systems, rather than the mainstream 8-bit and 16-bit micros that
the majority of working engineers use, but still, I consider this the bible of the industry,
and a "must-read" for every embedded systems programmer. The web site offers code from
the magazine, article reprints, and some excellent development tool selection guides.
C/C User's Journal
BUY NOW
Though much of the content is aimed toward programmers working on large systems,
the magazine does feature regular articles and special issues devoted to
embedded systems programming.
Dr. Dobb's Journal
BUY NOW
One of the few magazines that attempts to cover the whole gamut of programming
languages, instead of focussing on just one. Every issue features an article
related to embedded programming (though most are aimed toward the high end of
spectrum -- 32-bits and up).

Software Development magazine covers the people, products, and practices of corporate development.
Though it's focussed on higher-end software development, and it's articles tend towards
the obscure and academic, there are enough valuable articles to make it worthwhile
reading. Stresses the discipline of software engineering, covering estimating,
planning, project management, and testing.
